Taylor Swift, full Taylor Alison Swift. American singer/songwriter who's had great success with the tales she tells of her young heartbreak. Swift started to exhibit an interest in the music industry at a young age. Swift's career grew rapidly through the play of kids to her first public appearance crowds of people. Swift began to compose songs in the teen years. She performed The Star-Spangled Banner for a Philadelphia 76ers basketball game. Swift became inspired to create her own music by the music of country category, like Shania Twain or the Dixie Chicks. When she was 13 Swift's parents decided to sell their farm in Pennsylvania and moved to Hendersonville Tennessee so she could spend more time in courting the country music labels near Nashville.
